How to use the Waver Bun for Heatless Waves

The Waver Bun is our patented, award-winning heatless hair waver. It is the bun that waves: kind to your roots, no damage, just soft waves. You pop it onto dry hair, wear it as a comfortable bun, day or night, and when you take it down your hair falls into soft, healthy heatless waves. Here is how to use it, step by step.
Before you start
The Waver Bun is made from soft foam lined with premium satin, and it sits just like a bun on top of your scalp. The hair tool acts as a replacement to tight ponytails and typical hair buns and it has been designed to not pull on your roots. If you suffer with headaches every time you wear your hair up, the Waver Bun would be the perfect solution for you.
The premium silky satin has both grip and slip. Once you are ready to remove the Waver Bun from your hair, you’ll find that the hair will simply slides from the hair tool without getting your hair tangled.
It is multi-purpose, so you can wear it any time you would put your hair up, day or night, and it tames frizz and protects your hair while it waves it.
The Waver Bun is loved by celebrities, surgeons (yes, it is used during surgery!), mums in labour, mums running after their kids, hijabi women, nurses, students, gym goers, yogis and anyone who needs their hair up either at work, gym or at home. It is a patented, award-winning design, recognised at the Great British Entrepreneur Awards and featured on BBC Dragons’ Den.
How to use the Waver Bun, step by step
1. Start with dry, brushed hair. As with any heatless hair tool, second-day hair is ideal as this ensures there is no moisture present in your hair from hair washing day which could lead to uneven results and unwanted frizz. For longer-lasting waves, mist your hair lightly with water first so it dries in the waved shape, barely damp and never wet.
2. Gather it up. Gather your hair into a high ponytail using the Waver Bun itself. Do not use hair ties as these tend to leave dents in the hair.
3. Wrap hair. Feed the length of your hair around the ring and wrap around it until you reach the end of the tress. The ring will automatically fall into a bun.
4. Secure it. Secure the end of the tress with provided claw clip and pin down the bun using provided bobby pins. Make sure that there are no gaps in between wrapping to ensure a consistent hair waving result. Optional: You may wish to mist a little hairspray over the bun once all set to encourage longer lasting waves once you remove.
5. Leave it to set. Leave it in overnight, or during the day whilst you’re at work. The longer it sets, the better the waves hold.
6. Cover with satin bun bonnet. If you’re wearing the Waver Bun overnight, we recommend to use the bun bonnet included to keep the bun nice and secure whilst you sleep. This also helps protect your hair from friction overnight.
7. Unravel. In the morning, mist a little hairspray over the bun and let it sit for a few minutes, then unravel the bun and open the waves gently with your fingers.

Frequently asked questions
What is the Waver Bun made from?
Soft foam lined with premium satin. The satin has enough slip for your hair to slide off easily when removed and enough grip for the hair to achieve a waving result.
Is it comfortable to sleep in? Yes. It sits like a bun on the top of your scalp rather than around your face and neck. There are also no tight hair ties involved and therefore no tightness or tension on the scalp which often results in headaches.
Can I wear it during the day, like a normal bun? Yes. It is multi-purpose, so you can wear it any time you put your hair up, day or night. It keeps your hair off your face, tames frizz and protects it, and gives you soft waves when you take it down.
How long should I leave it in? A lot of our customers use it during activities as a replacement to typical buns and ponytails., which means it can be worn all day or all night. For the best hair waving results, the longer you leave it in the better.
Will it damage my hair? No. There is no heat at any stage, so there is no heat damage and no tightness at the scalp, so there is no tension on your roots.
Waves or curls? The Waver Bun is for soft waves. If you want defined curls, the Flower Curl is the one.
